Last weekend, Maryland Club Tennis traveled to Old Dominion University to compete in the annual USTA Mid-Atlantic Sectionals Championships for a bid to the Nationals Championships. On day one, the Terps faced off against Mary Washington, Loyola, and Old Dominion Universities. The Terps played well, defeating all three schools for a place in the Gold Bracket on day two.

Unfortunately, the Terps suffered a loss to Georgetown University in the first match in the gold bracket, and were knocked from the semis. However, they quickly bounced back, winning the consolation matches against James Madison University and Old Dominion University to place 5th overall. As one of the top five finishers in the tournament, club tennis officially qualified for a spot in Nationals this April!

To add icing to the cake, club president Linda Quach was also awarded the woman's sportsmanship award!

Congratulations, Terps!
