General Information
The University of Maryland, College Park Men's Soccer Club is a student-run, soccer club for exclusively Maryland students looking to play competitively. In the fall, we host 2 travel teams in the Region 1 NIRSA Soccer League. In the spring, our 2 teams participate in tournaments and a Mid-Atlantic Spring League with local teams. Our A-team (Black Squad) and B-team (Red Squad) both participated at Regionals in Fall 2016. Our goal is to have both teams win their respective divisions and return for another run at regionals. This year we will be bringing back a practice squad. Essentially, this will comprise of players who just want to come and scrimmage each week. They will not be playing competitively in games, but will have the opportunity to move up to a travel roster if noticed. More news on this will come in August.
Practice Facilities
We utilize a number of facilities throughout campus to conduct practices:
Xfinity Turf Fields: Used for outdoor practices. Located next to the Xfinity Center.
Engineering Fields: Outdoor, natural grass fields. Located on Route 1 right next to the main entrance of the University. Used often for pick-up soccer.
Fraternity Row Fields: Natural grass field, used for outdoor practices. Located on Route 1 across from the chapel and next to Richie Coliseum.
