SELAH SERVICE LED BY JEFF JOHNSON
The word “selah” is found throughout the Psalms and was most likely a musical term delineating a pause or rest. The Selah service offers an opportunity to pause and rest together in prayer, song, reflection and worship before God – to bring our concerns, confessions and petitions to the Lord and to rest in the mercy and grace that Christ offers each one of us.
Musician and composer Jeff Johnson leads the service. Jeff has released many CDs on his own ArkMusic label as well as Windham Hill, Sparrow and Hearts of Space. His many collaborations include projects with Irish flutist, Brian Dunning and world renowned guitarist, Phil Keaggy. His music has been featured regularly on National Public Radio as well as in films such as Martin Scorsese’s, “Gangs of New York.” He regularly leads Selah worship in many churches and retreat centers throughout the US and in Europe and most recently, on the Africa Mercy Ship in the Republic of Congo.
