Listen to some of our Sermons.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. - Jesus (Matt. 11: 29-30)
Being a Christian is an exciting adventure of discovering God's own
truth, endurance, patience, love, loyalty, and eternal life; for He gives us all
these things and more.
We would like to share them with you, and we will do our best to help you
discover them, too. His truth "will make you free," our Lord promised.
When we are free in Him, what else will we find?
Affirmation Statement of Faith
The Evangelical Covenant Church is part of the whole people of God that
begins in the Old Testament and lives through the New Testament right down to
today. We believe in God the Father, and in Jesus Christ, His Son and our
Savior. We believe, as Jesus Himself said, that anyone who believes in Him and
follows Him is a child of God for all time and eternity.
The Bible is our book and guide in life. If the Bible is clear on a teaching,
then we accept it. We say that it is "the only perfect rule for faith,
conduct, and doctrine." This gives us oneness in following God, yet
preserves us from imposing on each other our own thoughts and ways, for we all
are under God and His Word. We follow Him freely, for we are free to follow His
Our Covenant Affirmations:

you have become my salvation." Psalm 118:21
Covenant Women's Ministries

women and to support the work of the church. CWM operates within each church as

scholarships for young women, help fund projects at North Park College and
Theological Seminary, and more.
The Martha Lake chapter of Covenant Women participates and

group for Bible study, prayer and fellowship. We invite you to get more information or sign-up by contacting
the church office.
- Small groups have always been the basis of significant
spiritual growth. Jesus preached to the multitudes, but discipled the 12.
The church at Pentecost (Acts 2) met daily in believers' homes.
- Small groups provide the ideal place for us to "spur
one another on toward love and good deeds," to "encourage one
another" (Heb. 10:24-25), and to "pray for each other" (James
- Small groups are vital to accomplishing our church mission
to present the good news of Christ, support local & world missions,
teach the Word, worship God in spirit and truth, and encourage one another
in love and good works.
Council form of Government
Martha Lake Covenant
Church is governed by its members as a body, with an annual
meeting in January and other congregational meetings as needed.
The congregation elects 7 Council members, who meet monthly.
