Our Vision

Our vision is for our world to come to eternal salvation through Jesus Christ and for Christians to mature by applying God's Word to every aspect of their lives.

Our Mission

  • Present the good news of Jesus Christ.
  • Support local and world missions.
  • Teach the Word of God.
  • Worship God in spirit and truth.
  • Encourage one another to love and good works.

Our Ministry Commitments

  • We are committed to evaluating everything that we do in light of God's Word and the leading of the Holy Spirit.
  • We are committed to doing everything "with all our hearts as to the Lord, and not to men."
  • We are committed to integrity, accountability, and leading by example.
  • We are committed to recognizing the God-given value of all people and to encouraging them in the use of their spiritual gifts.
  • We are committed to families and to developing healthy personal relationships with one another.
  • We are committed to supporting our church ministry with the wise use of our time, money, and other God-given resources.

Our Pastor

Come hear God's Word preached Sundays at 10:00 a.m. by Rev. Bill Mueller.  Your heart will be encouraged and your spirit uplifted as you worship with us and allow God to work in you.

If you examined a hundred people who had lost their faith in Christianity, I wonder how many of them would turn out to have been reasoned out of it by honest argument? Do not most people simply drift away? - C. S. Lewis

Listen to some of our Sermons.

Invitation

Being a Christian is an exciting adventure of discovering God's own truth, endurance, patience, love, loyalty, and eternal life; for He gives us all these things and more.

We would like to share them with you, and we will do our best to help you discover them, too. His truth "will make you free," our Lord promised. When we are free in Him, what else will we find?

Affirmation Statement of Faith

The Evangelical Covenant Church is part of the whole people of God that begins in the Old Testament and lives through the New Testament right down to today. We believe in God the Father, and in Jesus Christ, His Son and our Savior. We believe, as Jesus Himself said, that anyone who believes in Him and follows Him is a child of God for all time and eternity.

The Bible is our book and guide in life. If the Bible is clear on a teaching, then we accept it. We say that it is "the only perfect rule for faith, conduct, and doctrine." This gives us oneness in following God, yet preserves us from imposing on each other our own thoughts and ways, for we all are under God and His Word. We follow Him freely, for we are free to follow His leading.

"I will give you thanks, for you answered me; you have become my salvation." Psalm 118:21

Covenant Women's Ministries

CWM is a part of the Evangelical Covenant Church and has functioned for 78 years to meet the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of women and to support the work of the church. CWM operates within each church as needed. Monies raised help meet Covenant mission needs, provide college scholarships for young women, help fund projects at North Park College and Theological Seminary, and more.

The Martha Lake chapter of Covenant Women participates and helps in the broader CWM and provides study and fellowship for women of the church.

Please check the weekly bulletin or monthly newsletter for current event schedules.

Healing the Soul - Counseling Support Group

A support group meets each Wednesday at 7 pm in the Counseling Office, room 202.  There is a small fee per session.  Contact Chaplain Cherie at 425-220-2522.  Resource: Mending the Soul: Understanding and Healing Abuse, by Steven Tracy.

Small Group Meetings

You are cordially invited to join a small home fellowship group for Bible study, prayer and fellowship. We invite you to get more information or sign-up by contacting the church office.

  • Small groups have always been the basis of significant spiritual growth. Jesus preached to the multitudes, but discipled the 12. The church at Pentecost (Acts 2) met daily in believers' homes.
  • Small groups provide the ideal place for us to "spur one another on toward love and good deeds," to "encourage one another" (Heb. 10:24-25), and to "pray for each other" (James 5:16).
  • Small groups are vital to accomplishing our church mission to present the good news of Christ, support local & world missions, teach the Word, worship God in spirit and truth, and encourage one another in love and good works.

Council form of Government

Martha Lake Covenant Church is governed by its members as a body, with an annual meeting in January and other congregational meetings as needed. The congregation elects 6 Council members, who meet monthly.

How to become a Christian

So something's not right between you and God? No one's perfect; we've all sinned (Romans 3:23). Sin separates us from God here & now (Isaiah 59:2), and dooms us to a miserable afterlife (2 Thess. 1:8). Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay for our sins, "that He might bring us to God" (1 Peter 3:18). Good news! We can have peace with God (Rom. 5:1) and eternal life (Rom. 6:23), free of sorrow and pain (Revelation 21:4). Pray to God; ask Him to forgive (1 John 1:9) and save you (Romans 10:9).
