Seven (7) methods to tell or amend your stories

There are seven (7) methods that you can use to tell or amend your stories so I can add links to them in this collection.

Hire someone to create and maintain your own website

For example; see the the following MI websites which are also contained in http://www.marrowstone.info/ : Nordland General Store NGC (suspended momentarily); Fort Flagler State Park, a Washington State Park near Oak Harbor, Stanwood; marrowstonepottery.com; http://www.olympicgetaway.com/; http://www.surfshopcomputers.net/ ; etc..

Create and maintain your own website of stories using my Google Sites Template

If one has a Google Account, one would go to https://sites.google.com/ and click on "Create", then search the template gallery for "Marrowstone Stories template" which does not exist yet. They would then click on "Use this template", give their site a name and it would immediately become theirs to do with as they choose.

See Create a Google Account below.

Create and maintain your own blog of stories using my Google's or other blogging platforms

Examples are NGS blog

See Create a Google Account below.

Create and maintain your own online document of stories using my Google Docs Template

See Create a Google Account below.

Post your stories to marrowstonestories@googlegroups.com (Preferred)

Please COPY the Table of Contents section title of the web page you want me to add your story to or changes to a story so I can easily locate that page and section to edit it. (Please see this Example of COPYing a "Contents" (Table of Contents) heading link.)

Then click here to post your stories to the marrowstonestories@googlegroups.com mailing list.

I prefer this method because Google Groups (GG) saves your posts in their message archives and I can address (link to) each of them to provide a direct attribution to your submissions.

Click here to view the message archives.

Another advantage is that this (GG) mailing list will reduce the load on the Island Net.Buildings

See Create a Google Account below.

Post your stories to the Island Net (OK, but not preferred)

Please COPY the Table of Contents section title of the web page you want me to add your story to or changes to a story so I can easily locate that page and section to edit it. (Please see this Example of COPYing a "Contents" (Table of Contents) heading link.)

Then click here to post your stories to the Island Net.

The Island Net message archives can also be addressed (link to) like the GG above, but some people may object to this traffic.

Click here to view the message archives.

Send your stories to me (Pete Hubbard) (Not preferred)

Please COPY the Table of Contents section title of the web page you want me to add your story to or changes to a story so I can easily locate that page and section to edit it. (Please see this Example of COPYing a "Contents" (Table of Contents) heading link.)

Then click here to send your stories to me and I will forward them to the marrowstonestories@googlegroups.com message archives so I can link to them in the story and other places in this site. This extra step for me is why I do not prefer this method.

An example of COPYing a heading link from the "Contents" (Table of Contents)

Let's say you wanted to add a story about the Nordland General Store.

  1. First, find Buildings in the left sidebar and click on it.

  2. Then find the heading link 1.3 Nordland General Store in the "Contents" (Table of Contents) at the top of the web page.

  3. SELECT that heading link 1.3 Nordland General Store and COPY it.

  4. Select one of the posting methods above - preferably the first one - and click on the "Then click here to post ..."

  5. PASTE the heading link in BOTH the Subject line AND the Body of your post.

  6. If you are changing something, COPY/PASTE the first few words of the current text so I can locate what you want me to change.

  7. I just posted a test msg and here is the link to it in the GG message archives - https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/marrowstonestories/iKenjWNnflg

  8. Now, click on 1.3 Nordland General Store to see "(Test link to the attribution)" that I inserted to identify the author.

Create a Google Account

Readers of the content on Google platforms (Like Google Docs, Google Sites, Google Groups, etc.) do NOT need to have a Google Account (GA) to view them. They only need a GA to create them.

It only takes a few minutes to create a GA if you follow the instructions on this web page:
