The nationally recognised Hallmark scheme promotes the delivery of effective and well-managed Community Buildings through a quality standards scheme and has 3 distinct standard levels.
Hallmark 1 assesses whether the hall is complying with the requirements of its charitable status
Hallmark 1 focuses on the management and administration of the charity. It concentrates on charity administration and management and looks for the basics required both by the trust deed and law. Hallmark 1 also highlights good practice around hiring arrangements and booking procedures, insurance and maintenance of the hall.
Hallmark 2 assesses compliance with legislative issues
Hallmark 2 focuses on the management committee's duty of care in protecting its users and employees. It covers health and safety, fire safety and relevant risk assessments and security. It also looks at licensing arrangements, including the sale of alcohol.
Hallmark 3 assesses Community/Social awareness, forward planning and development
Hallmark 3 focuses on how the committee interact with the community and demonstrates an awareness of the needs of the community and strives to achieve a balance across all groups. It also evaluates Environmental consciousness, effective management of the building and associated facilities, fundraising activities, forward planning and that appropriate policies are in place to achieve its goals.
