What We Do

Marion-Polk Peer Coalition is an association of peer-run, peer-delivered, and consumer-driven organizations in Oregon's Marion and Polk counties.

Collaboration

The Marion-Polk Peer Coalition works to ensure anyone struggling with mental health or addiction can find a community of peers to stand with them in their struggles. Each member organization provides a path to recovery in a different way - but the coalition gives member organizations a chance to see how others in the peer community are promoting recovery.

Advocacy

The Marion Polk Peer Coalition prioritizes bringing the voice of consumers of mental health and addiction services to decision making tables. The coalition makes time to ensure members have a chance to share what policy decisions affect the our community, and rallies people effected to be heard by decision makers on these issues.

Community

The Marion Polk Peer Coalition comes together to ensure that community wide recovery events are a success. The largest of these is the Salem Hands Across the Bridge a celebration of recovery held each September. This event brings hundreds of peers in our community together to share stories and resources, dance, and eat food. The event reminds us, and the public that recovery is not just possible - but happens every day. The event culminates when hundreds of people take to the Marion St. Bridge showing that recovery is possible, and remembering people who we have lost along the way.
