Biography

Dr. Maria-Isabel Sanchez-Segura has been a faculty member at the Computer Science Department at Carlos III Technical University of Madrid since 1999.


Maria-Isabel holds a a Ph.D. in Computer Science (2001), an M.S. in Software Engineering (1999) and a B.S. in Computer Science (1997), from the Universidad Politecnica of Madrid.
Maria-Isabel is Knowledge Manager Certified by the Knowledge Management Institute. IEEE Senior Member.


She leads the research line on Processes and Information Technologies for the Governance of Intelligent Organizations promise.sel.inf.uc3m.es.


To date she is  the technical coordinator of the Spanish point of contact of the European Center for Women and Technology and is member of the Woman Task Force in CEPIS (Council of European Professional Informatics Society).


She is currently:

  • Director of R&D at the ISVA institute at Carlos III University of Madrid.
  • Director of Doctoral and Master Program in Computer Science and Technology at
    Carlos III University of Madrid.


Her research interests include: Knowledge Management, Intelectual Capital, Intelligent Organizations, software engineering in general; focusing on processes, methodologies, reuse, management and software configuration management, and usability of interactive systems.
