Gracie is our first German Shorthair Pointer. She was acquired from Warriors Mark kennels in 2007. She is bred with Fly N Hy on her father's side and her mother Bella is a NAVHDA UT Prize I campaigning for her VC (versatile champion) title this fall. I have personally hunted grouse with Bella on multiple occasions. A more driven hunting dog simply does not exist. Gracie was purchased at Warriors Mark from a litter put together by Phil Urban, who owns Gracie's mother Bella and several related dogs. We are eternally grateful to the owners of Warriors Mark (www.warriorsmark.com), Eric and Bernadette Gilliland, for their dedication to hunting dogs and help over the years and to Phil Urban (http://river-ridge-gsp.tripod.com) for the incredible hunting opportunities with his fine GSP's.
Gracie has shown incredible amounts of natural abilities since we brought her home at 7 weeks old. Her natural retrieving abilities were apparent from day one when she carried a young pheasant around the yard. Her water retrieving is impressive, and I have been pleased to see her drive increase with age.
Gracie was passing AKC Junior Hunter tests prior to reaching 12 months of age. She completed her fourth pass, earning her AKC "Junior Hunter" title, at just over 12 months old. She had the potential to pass months earlier, had I known more about the testing system.
Gracie embodies what a truly "versatile" hunting dog is capable of: scenting furred game (deer, rabbit, fox) or feathered game (quail, chuckar, grouse, pheasant, duck) on land or water, pointing live game and retrieving fallen game. To me, there is no greater breeding of dog than a versatile hunting dog.

Ember came to us from Hungry Ridge Kennel in Star, Idaho. She is the product of an AKC show champion (son of German champion KS CH Graf vom Vehner Moor MH CD CGC) and a NAVHDA NA Prize I mother (double linebred NAVHDA Versatile Champion Enzo vom Ludwigstein).
At a young age Ember exhibited traits conducive to hunting dogs. Her natural point is staunch, she possesses a natural retrieve and her prey drive is excellent. In addition, Ember is a calm, biddable shorthair that is always looking to you for the game plan. Ember's introductions to gunfire, birds and water have gone smoothly. She has shown flashes of brilliance in the pheasant fields and we continue to pursue the elusive ruffed grouse throughout the wooded gamelands of Pennsylvania.
Thank you Steve and Erin at Hungry Ridge for providing us with such a beautiful, intelligent hunting machine!

Kimber vom Riverwoods is a solid liver female shorthair out of the Riverwoods bloodline. Both parents are registered DK's (Deutsch Kurzhaar - German shorthair) with over half of their ancestors earning the top German hunt test title (Kurzhaar Seiger, which means shorthair champion). Kimber's sire, Ike, is a direct son of CH KS Graf vom Vehner Moor MH whose accomplishments in multiple hunting and show venues are unparalleled. Kimber's mother Tara is a superb specimen that has shown early natural ability and successfully gone through rigoruous hunt testing in multiple venues (check out her accomplishments here).
We have high expectations for Kimber and look forward to helping her develop her natural abilities to their fullest potential. Introductions to birds and gunfire have all gone smoothly. Kimber has successfully been introduced to the wily ruffed grouse of PA, along with a few stocked pheasants and chuckar. All have gone smoothly and she has an intensity on point like no other. We look forward to future seasons afield in pursuit of game hunting behind such a beautiful, talented hunting dog.
Thank you to the Hambley's in Illinois for providing us the opportunity to work with such a well-bred German shorthair.

Reif vom Trocken Bach comes to us from Trocken Bach kennels in Walla Walla, Washington. He is the son of two KS titled parents; Darwin KS vom Hege-Hof and Gema KS Seehof. In fact, in Rocky's 5-generation pedigree (consisting of 62 dogs), 40 dogs have earned the top KS title (approximately 65%).
We have great expectations for Rocky in the years ahead, both testing and hunting. Thus far he has proven to be a calm, eager to please, and talented hunter. His ability to scent into the wind was apparent by age 12 weeks, and even in our sub freezing winter temperatures he appears interesting in getting into water. He is prey driven, as his first exposure to chukar and pigeons was a success.
Rocky is already fitting in to our pack and we look forward to watching him grow into a happy, healthy hunter.
