Memories of Father John O'Neill

It was not my wedding which was celebrated at the Chateau but my parents wedding lunch.
My parents, Jim and Edith O'Neill from Kinburn, Ontario, were married on Oct 1st 1946 at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Church in Ottawa with Fr. John O'Neill, my Fathers brother officiating assisted by his brother Fr.Alphonse O'Neill. The only other attendees were my Mother's sister and my Father's nephew who were the witnesses.
They went to the Canadian Grill in The Chateau for their wedding lunch which was an egg dish as meat rationing was still in effect following the war and this day happened to be a meatless day. I don't think it diminished the celebration.
