Church Films in Open Air

The Marian Congress has brought outdoor movies to Ottawa in a big way, dimensionally speaking.

One of the largest outdoor screens on this continent, and probably the largest in Canada, has been erected at the southwest corner of the former athletic field at Landsdowne Park.

The screen which is for the presentation of films after dark has a picture surface measuring 60 by 48 feet, while the frame itself is approximately 10 feet larger both ways.

Only one other screen in Canada begins to compare with this size, this being the one which was installed last year at the automobile drive-in theatre in Windsor.

Underground Booth

To complete the outdoor theatre of the Maria Congress, the projection booth was placed underground and not overhead as in all commercial cinemas .
