Here are some guidelines on Marking POI (Point of Interests)

    1. When marking any feature - if it covers significant area, please mark with a polygon as it will show extent of the area too.

    2. To name 'chowk', please mark as "Traffic Circle", to mark a 'chowk' without any traffic island, mark it as "Landmark",

    3. To mark name of a place for the road travellers, its better to mark 'LocationName Bus Stop' as "Bus Station", just marking a point on or around the road as 'Landmark' is confusing as the usually name of the places used to mark 'Landmark'.

    4. Name of place (District, City, Locality, Sub-Locality) should be marked as per "Matching Nepal's political features with GMM Features"

Some list of GMM features and its popular use:

    1. Traffic Circle - to name 'chowk', crossroads, roundabout

    2. Landmark - to mark 'chowk' if it doesn't got an traffic island

    3. Bus Station - 'LocationName Bus Stop' to mark bus stop which are long the road, 'LocationName Bus Station' to mark large bus station e.g. Old Bus Park

    4. Landmark - to mark name of a place for which you are not sure about its area, if you have knowledge about its area coverage, please do mark it as polygon as political features -- please see Guidelines: Matching Nepal's Political features with GMM features
