Article 1 - Name & Purpose
1.1 - Name - The name of this group is the Manitoba LEGO® Users Group, abbreviated as
“MBLUG”
1.2 - Purpose - The primary purpose of MBLUG is to promote the hobby of LEGO® building in
Manitoba, Canada. MBLUG seeks to create strong partnerships within our community by
collaborating with individuals, organizations, families, and institutions to share the joy of
LEGO®.
Article 2 - Code of Conduct
2.1 - Respect and Courtesy - All members, partners, and the public will be treated with respect,
kindness, and professionalism.
2.2 - Inclusivity and Safety - No discrimination, bullying, harassment (including sexual
harassment), and unwelcome sexual attention is allowed at any time.
2.3 - Content Restrictions - All LEGO® builds and displays at public events are "kid-friendly" and
appropriate for all ages.
2.4 - Safety and Property - MBLUG will consistently follow safety guidelines at events, maintain
cleanliness, and respect venue rules.
2.5 - Representation - MBLUG members will represent the club or group in a positive light,
especially when interacting with the public or the media.
2.6 - Conflict Resolution - Constructive communication and reporting is encouraged while public
arguments or "gatekeeping" is strongly discouraged.
2.7 - Proper Use of Terms - Strong discouragement of derogatory terms for non-LEGO® bricks
(e.g., "FLEGO") to maintain a supportive tone.
2.8 - Media and Privacy - Inappropriate photography is prohibited and there is a constant
respecting of personal privacy.
Article 3 - Membership
3.1 - Joining MBLUG - MBLUG is open to adult fans of LEGO® aged 18 and older—no specific
theme, skill level, or collection size is required.
3.2 - Involvement - All roles and activities are volunteer-based. All members are encouraged to
get involved and find ways of interacting with the community.
3.3 - Leadership - All leadership roles are volunteer-based and open to changes as seen fit by
MBLUG members and the executive team. MBLUG works collaboratively as a team and there
are leadership opportunities for all.
3.4 - Fees - A membership fee does apply to help fund events, supplies and acquire meeting
spaces.
Article 4 - Personal Property
4.1 - Personal LEGO® - All members are responsible and liable for their own LEGO®. This
includes displaying builds at events, meetings, or other gatherings.
Any MBLUG member's inability to follow this code of conduct will result in a warning and be
encouraged to work together in an effort to avoid future issues. If deemed fit by MBLUG
leadership, a member may be removed for continually not following the code of conduct.
