Dr. Manidipto Mukherjee graduated from West Bengal University of Technology (W.B.U.T) in Mechanical Engineering from the Haldia Institute of Technology in 2009. In 2011, he completed his postgraduate degree (M.Tech.) in material engineering from Jadavpur University (J.U.). In 2016, he received his PhD (in engineering) from Jadavpur University (J.U.) for his thesis titled "Development of Suitable Gas Metal Arc Welding Procedure for High-Performance Weld Joints of Modified Ferritic and Low Nickel Austenitic Stainless Steel." Dr. Mukherjee received the prestigious Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) from the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), India (a leading national R&D organization and among the world's largest publicly funded R&D organizations), to conduct his doctoral work in 2012-16.
He is currently working at the Additive Manufacturing Research Group, CSIR-CMERI Durgapur, West Bengal, India, as a Principal Scientist. He had previously been associated with the Department of Mechanical Engineering at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, SRM University, as an Assistant Professor (Research), and with the Department of Mechanical Engineering at C.V. Raman College of Engineering as an Assistant Professor.

He has published 71 research papers in several international journals, 08 book chapters, and more than 30 research papers in conference proceedings. He has also received 06 national awards for the best technical papers from IIW-India (a member society of the International Welding Institute) and the Young Engineers Award 2022 in Production Engineering from the Institution of Engineers (India).
Aside from his academic and daily lives, he enjoys taking long drives or treks with his close friends to a peaceful location where he can take some stunning photos and relax.
