Malvern Branch members participate in local community projects and undertake work in support of Fish & Game as well as Department of Conservation and as part of other groups such as Permolat and Search and Rescue.
Members are involved in maintenance and construction of huts and bivouacs and track maintenance, funded by The Backcountry Trust
As projects develop we will detail them here.
In the meantime here is record of the movement of the Lawrence Hut by the joint efforts of Malvern Branch NZDA and the Methven Search and Rescue group in 1999 and a couple of images from other work.
Work underway on the Esk Biv, Mt White Station 2019. Built in 1959 and with virtually no maintenance it has stood up pretty well.
