Laura Magazzini is associate professor in Econometrics at the Institute of Economics, Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies (www.santannapisa.it).

She was previously at the Department of Economics, University of Verona (11/2006 to 07/2020).

In 2004 she obtained her PhD at Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, Pisa, Italy. She graduated in Statistics for Economics at the University of Florence, Italy. During her graduate and undergraduate studies she visited the Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA and the University of Sydney, Sydney, Australia.

Her research interests are in the fields of industrial organization, economics of innovation, microeconometrics, competition policy and econometric methods. She has long-established experience in the analysis of microeconomic data, with a focus on the dynamics of innovation and competition that characterize the Life Science industry. She has gained expertise with econometric methods for the analysis of panel data and limited dependent variable models.

Laura has published in international journals such as: Nature Reviews, The Economic Journal, Management Science, Revue d’Economie Industrielle, Research Policy, The European Journal of Health Economics, Empirical Economics, Economics Letters, The STATA Journal.
