About Me!

Thank you, intrepid followers! I am a 20 year veteran of Albemarle County Public Schools. Currently, I am the librarian at Albemarle High School. I have been honored to speak at the White House, the Bay Area MakerFaire, MakerEd, and The South Carolina Association of School Libraries. Winner of the Magna Award from the National Association of School Boards, the 2019 Virginia Librarian of the Year, and a Darden Fellow, my publishing credits include Library High-Tech, School Library Connection, School Library Journal, and Knowledge Quest. The focus of my research is Maker Education and the role of school libraries in the community. I have a spirited daughter, an understanding husband, and two weird dogs named Peacha and Minnie.
