For Presenters
We look forward to welcoming you all to MAD 2014, at the American University of Beirut. We would also like to alert you to the following things:
We remind you to register for the conference, and to provide us with the final title of your paper in English, as well as in the language of the presentation.
We will be providing simultaneous translation to English during the conference. Those who will be presenting in languages other than English will be asked by the conference organizers to provide relevant documents ahead of time.
For those doing an overhead presentation, you can send it by email to mad2014beirut@gmail.com by April 5, 2014. We can then have it ready for you on the day of your presentation. We may not be able to take care of presentations sent to us after that date. The conference room will be equipped with a laptop and a projector. If you plan to use a MacBook or your own laptop, please make sure you have the equipment needed to connect your laptop to the projector.
If you are using a handout, you need to figure around 40-50 copies. If you prefer to make copies after you are at AUB, we can direct you to a copy center near campus.
Each paper is allotted 20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for questions.
What to do while in Beirut

Around Town
For those wishing to wander in the city, Beirut also houses the National Museum. The history of this museum, closely intertwined with that of the civil war, is told in a very interesting short documentary that one can watch on site.
