Marijn ("Ma-Rhine") Bolhuis
I am a PhD Candidate in Economics at the University of Toronto, supervised by Diego Restuccia, Xiaodong Zhu and Kevin Lim. My research interests are in international macroeconomics and economic growth. I also have a particular interest in applying machine learning methods to macroeconomic forecasting.
In my research I examine how international trade and financial linkages affect the short- and long-run macro performance of countries, exploiting micro data for identification.
I am on the job market during the 2020-2021 academic year, attending the ASSA 2021 Virtual Annual Meeting, the European Job Market 2020, and the Canadian Economics Employment Exchange.
I'm a founder and co-organizer of the 5060 Study Group, a seminar series for PhD candidates in economics at the University of Toronto.
