Logpile 350D 7:21 AM to 8:39 AM
Ridge left - 350 D - 6:54 AM to 8:27 AM
07:04 AM
Parked at bedstead.
Twinkle performing with full over-the-head feathers on a termite mound less than two metres from the road on the east side as we walked down IM road towards UPM.
As we had our arms full carrying camera equipment, we have no photos of his performance.
We saw him for about two minutes. He left the mound in an unhurried fashion, so I don't think we disturbed him.
07:12 AM
Set up at UPM.
We were not happy with the camera setup so we went in and changed the camera angle at about 8:30 AM.
09:13 AM
Twinkle performed for the camera.
09:28 AM
Left the stage (never to return, it seems)

quiet everywhere
07:40 AM

Continuous performance from the bird in the east gully but nothing else until ..
8:10 AM
- four or five distant birds started performing intermittently
8:25 AM
- vigorous performance very near UPM
- bird from gully south moved to the ridge mound area
- bird from gully east moved towards Italian Mine Road
8:35 AM
- UPM bird (Twinkle, from his repertoire) moved steadily north, close to the road, almost to the bedstead without pausing for breath.
- Packed up with nothing from UPM and nothing from the log.
- As we left, Twinkle was heading steadily south, close to the road. No pauses.
- We went up to try sound recording, but there was not much worth recording and the traffic noise was overwhelming anyway.
Decided to give him one last chance. 11 C.
07:00 AM
- Parked up the hill near ridge mounds.
- Two (or more?) performing in the east gully.
- Twinkle performing energetically a couple of metres north of UPM.
- Set up cameras at both UPMs, Twinkle started performing on the logpile north within minutes.
- We didn't see him cross the road of course.
- Tried to hunt him back across the road by going into the bush well north of him and coming up behind him.
-Got to within a few metres without seeing him. He went north a few metres.
07:27 AM
- Twinkle(?) came onto the road a bit north of the termite mound but didn't cross. He/She walked up the road towards Shimmer.
07:30 AM
- He/She crossed IM Road near shimmer
07:33 AM
- Performed somewhere near bedstead
- Moved south a bit.
07:40 AM
- Silent
09:15 AM

4 mm of rain overnight. Arrived 9:00 AM. Cloudy 14 C.
Shimmer and Ridge Right appear to have been recently used.
A new mound (named LogPile Junior) discovered within 3 paces of LogPile (right).
