The purpose of the Lutheran Schools Music Committee is to encourage the musical development of the children in our Lutheran Elementary Schools in the Southeast Michigan and Northwest Ohio areas, by sponsoring festivals, workshops, and other educational activities.

Each year adjudicated group performance opportunities are offered for choirs, bands, handbell and string ensembles normally in early March. A Solo & Ensemble festival is offered in the spring of the year, generally in mid-late April (adjusted as necessary in relation to Easter). Other educational opportunities are offered in the fall on a rotating basis (Band Clinic, Handbell Clinic, Choir Clinic, etc.)

All Missouri Synod Lutheran schools located in this area are members of the Music Committee and all music directors from these schools are invited to attend meetings and are encouraged to become involved in planning and carrying out these festivals.
