I’m Lucy, and I live with my husband Rob and our children Charlotte and Henry on our family farm near Scorton, North Yorkshire. Our house is surrounded by fields, which are usually full of sheep and cows. The farm also has a lot of arable land so the children can also experience the machinery working the land throughout the year. The main farming experience that the children will gain from coming to Little Lambs Childminding is of lambing time. There are a number of sheds across the yard from our house, which will be a buzz of activity each Spring with both lambing and calving. The children will see new life being born as well as playing a part in rearing the pet lambs. Before deciding to follow my heart and become a Childminder, I worked as a teacher for 3 years after obtaining my degree in Primary Education at Nottingham Trent University.
I am Ofsted registered and insured with the Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years (PACEY). I have recently completed a CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education as well as regularly completing Safeguarding courses and Food Hygiene. I hold a Paediatric First Aid Certificate and I am registered as a food business. We received 'Outstanding' in our recent inspection in July 2017, where the inspector noted that 'Teaching is inspirational' and 'Children thrive in an environment where their care, learning and development is of the utmost importance'. Deciding on the right care for your child can be stressful and emotional. I try to make sure that the whole experience from our first meeting to your child’s first day with me is comfortable and enjoyable. I have spent a considerable amount of time preparing my home and my team to ensure that I can offer you and your child the happiest of childcare experiences, which is focused on their educational and social requirements.
