For all other nationalities: contact me about applying in the international round, deadline April 15 to start July-Aug, and Aug 31 to start Jan-March. International scholarships are competitive but not impossible if you have a masters/honours thesis and a good GPA.
Postdoctoral Researchers -
While I don't have direct funding available at present, I can host postdoc fellows and support their projects at either at the University of Zurich or at the Australian National University:
Marie Curie Fellowships provide European nationals with 2-3 years of postdoctoral funding to come to Switzerland or Australia. Deadlines are usually in September.
DECRAS fund people of any nationality within 5 years of PhD submission to come to Australia. Next deadline (to start beginning 2026) is in December 2025.
For Swiss nationals, Swiss mobility fellowships can fund a 2 year postdoc in Australia and reintegration. Next deadline is in February 2025.
For Germans, Swiss and Austrians, the DAAD, Leopoldina and Humboldt Feodor Lynen fellowships can fund a 18mth - 2 year research stay in Switzerland or Australia
Human Frontier Postdoctoral Fellowships fund international postdocs for 3 years. Applicants need to change research direction, and either: “broaden their expertise by proposing a project in the life sciences which is significantly different from their previous Ph.D. or postdoctoral work”; or “hold a Ph.D. from outside the life sciences (e.g. in physics, chemistry, mathematics, engineering or computer sciences)”.
