I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy and the Institute for Logic, Language and Computation at the University of Amsterdam. I am also serving as leader of the Formal Semantics and Philosophical Logic research unit at the ILLC and as an editor of The Review of Symbolic Logic.
From the beginning of 2026 I will be the Principal Investigator of the ERC Advanced Grant project New Foundations for Intensionality.
Between 2018 and 2023 I was the Principal Investigator of the ERC Starting Grant project From the Expression of Disagreement to New Foundations for Expressivist Semantics.
Before coming to Amsterdam I was at the University of Cambridge, where I completed my PhD at St John's College and then stayed on, first as a Research Fellow at Magdalene College and subsequently as a Lecturer in the Faculty of Philosophy.
My main research interests lie in philosophy of mathematics, formal and philosophical logic, philosophy of language, meta-ethics and metaphysics. For an introduction to my work and background, you can read my interview in The Reasoner.
