     After careful consideration, Tommy LeBlanc / Lafayette Chess made the important decision to cancel the 2020 Louisiana Open.  Please stay tuned for updates on future tournaments from Tommy and all other Chess organizers, state-wide.

4 Round Swiss Format: G/45;d5, Section: K-12   

Individual and school team trophies in each section.*   

On-Site Registration 8:30 – 9:30 a.m.  Anyone not registered by 9:30 am will be given a first round   

bye so we can start promptly at 10:00 am.   

Rounds at 10:00 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 1:45 p.m., 3:00 p.m.   

United States Chess Federation Membership Required   

Entry Fee $30 if received by April 16; $35 on site.

We are pleased to announce that the 4th FIDE World Junior Chess Championship for Players with Disabilities will be held from June 28 - July 7, 2020, in Denver, Colorado, USA.  The FIDE World Junior Chess Championship for Players with Disabilities is an event for chess players with a physical, hearing, visual and/or cognitive impairment, who are under the age of 20 by June 27, 2020.

SITE: Discovery Inn & Suites, 120 E. Kaliste Saloom Rd., Lafayette, LA 70508. Free parking. To reserve by phone, call 337-235-0858 and reference Lafayette Chess Club and Louisiana Open. RR: $50.00 plus tax.   

REG.: Sat. 9:00-9:45. Rounds: Sat. 10am, 1:30pm, 6pm. Sun. 9am, and 1pm.   

Byes: One 1/2 pt. available if requested before 2nd rd.   

Prizes: 70% returned. 1st 200; 2nd 150. 3 person in each class or combined.
