On 1st May 1986, Lodge Douglas became the owners of what was the AEU Hall.

The building was purchased for £12,000 and two years later the land was purchased for £500.

It was decided to mark 25 years of ownership by inviting the Provincial Grand Lodge of Renfrewshire East to carry out the re-enactment of the laying of a Foundation Stone. A concept which was developed from the late Bro. Allan Ramsay of Lewis Lodge No.872 E.C. lecture on that subject.
