Dear Dr Wu
We are delighted to be contacting you as you were one of a select group of Sheffield Alumni who indicated that they would be interested in being a University of Sheffield Ambassador and we wondered if you would be interested in organising an alumni event?
As you will be aware, London will be hosting the 2012 Olympic Games in July and August. There are many Sheffield graduates who are taking part in the Games. We are particularly excited to be supporting 2007 graduate Jessica Ennis in the heptathlon. Jessica studied Psychology at the University and was later awarded an Honorary degree in 2010. She is one of Great Britain’s brightest medal hopes and will be competing in the Heptathlon event in the athletics on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th August. We hope that our alumni ambassadors across the world will get behind Jessica by organising an alumni event between Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th August in or near your home town of Cyong-Lin to celebrate the London 2012 Olympics.
How it will work
If you are willing to take this opportunity, we will ask you to find a suitable venue to host the event and cover any costs that you may incur (you may like to ask guests for a contribution). The venue should be able to hold up to 30 guests and have refreshments available to purchase. You must be available to attend and host the event for 1.5 – 2hours and be a representative of The University of Sheffield.
If you are happy to host a party or would like further information please emailalumni@sheffield.ac.uk with your current address and we will respond with more details.
We look forward to hearing from you.
With best wishes
Sarah Heslop
