Youth Protection training is required for all BSA registered volunteers and is a joining requirement.
Youth Protection training must be taken every two years. If a volunteer’s Youth Protection training record is not current at the time of recharter, the volunteer will not be re-registered.
Both parents (and any other adults that may attend with your child, ie. grandparents) will need to complete BSA’s 1 hour Youth Protection Training.
New parents, you will need to create an account at https://my.scouting.org.
Returning parents, if you have already taken YPT training, it must be valid through 5/1/2024. If you need to renew, sign into your existing account. NOTE: YPT must be renewed prior to the expiration date.
Once you log in, click on the logo on the right that says YOUTH PROTECTION BEGINS WITH YOU. See instructions below. NOTE: Please be sure to complete the MANDATORY TRAINING (Youth Protection Training - Mandatory v2) not the OPTIONAL courses with similar content!
