Create a personal/professional website (e-portfolio) that will be used to present all your work in this unit, and a reflective blog.
An e-portfolio provides a way for learners to take ownership and responsibility for their own learning. We encourage you to develop your own personal learning environment to communicate and share your knowledge and resources with their colleagues.
Website creation
Prepare a personal/professional website (a shell or prototype) including text, a photograph/image, a hyperlink, and a blog with at least one entry.
Suggested website technologies
To create your website we suggest you use one of the following tools as they are FREE and easy to use.

Blogs
Many educators agree that preparing our students for their future should include applying new literacy skills through different media (Davis, 2007Downes, 2009Luca, 2011Rosenthal Tolisano, 2011. “Teachers need to address writing for a public audience, how to cite and link and why, how to use the comment tool in pedagogical ways, how to read web materials more efficiently as well as explore other ways to consider pedagogical uses of blogs”Davis (2007). Suggested blog technologies
All of the online web creation tools listed above have a "blog" type page. In Google sites this page type is called "announcements". Or you could use one of the following popular blog technologies.
Present your work
The layout, design and text you put on your website is your choice. Just make sure you include all five elements. See example student web page (Jenni student).

Reflect on your work
For the first assignment task all you need to do is start the blog, and have at least one entry. Perhaps just writing about how you are finding the unit so far, your fears (do you have any?) and your expectations. But really, at this stage, we are focusing only on the fact that you are able to create a blog in the first instance.
Submit your work
Download the coversheet for this assignment task (on the LMS) and check the marking criteria to ensure you have completed all requirements for this task before you submit your work (upload completed coversheet on the LMS).
