Artist Statement 藝術家的話

"The Coastlines"透過多次的聲音漫步而錄製出來, 而參與的藝術家和公眾人士對灣仔只有少量或者沒有認識。

歷史告訴我們香港島是由西至東發展, 故每一個聲音漫步都是採用此地理方向步行, 這樣亦可以顯示出聲音/境時空的關係。每次聲音漫步亦容許繞行(detour), 以收集更多特別的聲音。

下午版本(Day)基本上完成, 為使"The Coastlines"聲境作品更全面, 更多的聲音漫步將於早上及晚上進行。

"The Coastlines" records the soundscape of Wan Chai by organizing several soundwalks which invited participants have little or no knowledge about Wan Chai district.

Each soundwalk starts walking from west to east due to the historical fact that the Hong Kong Island district develops in this direction geographically. It shows how time and space interacts together. During each soundwalk, it allows detour to find more interesting sounds.

Day version has been finished at this stage. To make the soundscape recording be more comprehensive, Early morning walks and Night walks will be carried out in the future.
