Let's take a look at the black keys! These add in SHARPS AND FLATS which we call accidentals.
SHARP - indicates that the pitch is a 1/2 step higher (sharp, like bouncing up after sitting on a sharp tack)
FLAT - indicates that the pitch is a 1/2 step lower (flat, like a tire going down after it goes flat)
Note that each black keys has TWO CORRECT NAMES - depending on whether you're coming from below (raising the pitch) or above (lowering the pitch).
