The mind, body and world interact in many fascinating ways. For example our emotions and thoughts influence bodily processes such as digestion, heart function and breathing. In turn, bodily processes such as inflammation and disease also influence brain function and contribute to psychopathologies.
We are a group of researchers from different disciplines who are interested in these kind of interactions between the mind, body and our social and physical environments. We meet on a regular basis to discuss how to bridge the gap between basic research on mind-body interactions, insights from disciplines based on more subjective experience (e.g., dance, yoga), and clinical practice.

We organise opportunities for diverse disciplines to discuss and explore the many relationships between the mind, body and world. In addition to presentations at the Paris Brain Institute by cutting-edge scientists, we currently conduct retreats to explore “conversations between the mind and body” from various perspectives.
Activities and events include:
March 5-7, 2024 : Brain-Body Interactions conference at the Paris Brain Institute
Octobre 2023 : Inter-D Body Retreat in Sanary, Cote-Azur (France)
March 2-5, 2023 : Inter-D Body Retreat in Beaune, Burgundy (France)
May 13, 2022 : Conversations Between the Brain and Body at the Paris Brain Institute with Dr. Catherine Tallon-Baudry (CNRS Research Direction, LNCC, ENS) and Dr. Marion Place (Chef de Service du SHU-S14, GHU Paris Psychiatrie & Neurosciences)
This session addresses links between the brain, visceral organs and our sense of self, and how those interactions contribute to consciousness and how they are altered in psychiatric conditions, such as depersonalization/derealization disorder.
