Green+

Description

In well-insulated buildings, ventilation losses can account for up to 50% of energy losses. The Thermodynamics Laboratory investigated an innovative systems allowing heat recovery on ventilation. This system, developed in the frame of the GREEN+ project, is a single room ventilation with heat recovery. The developed device is mainly dedicated to the refurbishment of residential houses, due to the absence of ducts. This system is based on a compact and highly efficient heat exchanger in plastic. Based on detailed simulation models developed in the Laboratory, a prototype has been designed and tested currently in a climatic chamber. The characterization of frost formation and the study of non-frosting/defrosting strategies were investigated.
