Cindy Kennedy is the board member acting as Instructor Liaison. She is the point of contact for all information regarding being an instructor for Leisure Craft Camp 2026. You can contact Cindy through the Facebook Group or Facebook Page.
Instructor's Tool for Success:
You can take your own photos to upload with the information, OR bring the items and ask Cindy to take the photos for promotional and informational purposes.
Basically, for each craft you need to tell us: a brief description, how long it takes, how much it costs, and what(if anything) campers need to bring with them to make it. It is up to you whether you want to teach one craft per session or have multiple crafts going simultaneously. Here is a link to the schedule for the 2026 camp to help with your planning: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Im2E5FLxaK8WwkMXwZKmNb0AA9Yqvzx7oHCm-_Re72M/edit?usp=sharing
Top 10 Important Things to Know
If You Plan to be an Instructor:
When submitting your proposal, please tell us if you need water and/or electricity for your activity. Water and electricity are available but not convenient to all booths. You may need to bring long extension cords/outlet strips. Please complete the information for each craft you plan to teach and bring a photo or a sample of the craft to be photographed. Information needed is on the document at: https://forms.gle/dy96LQsVXY9kr3QJ9
You are expected to pay the registration fee before the camp. You can register one assistant, whose registration is also due before camp. Campers pay before they come to camp, and instructors pay before they come to camp, including assistant instructors.
Space in the craft room is assigned, and instructors cannot extend beyond their assigned space or into the aisles because that crowds the other instructors and blocks the walkway to their tables. It could also cause safety concerns in the event of an emergency. Space and tables will be divided equally among instructors. A minimum of two tables are assigned to each.
Instructors MUST bring any additional tables they feel necessary for themselves as more than 2 tables cannot be guaranteed. Protective tablecloths are REQUIRED by Brandon Springs Management. Instructors must provide the appropriate table covering for their craft area. Please ensure neither you nor any campers damage camp property.
Any tall displays must be at the back of your space; no blocking walkways or the space of other instructors.
The crafts that you submitted for review and board approval in the spring meeting are the crafts that will be published for camper selection. Do NOT substitute crafts. Please bring adequate supplies. It is impossible to know the popularity of any given craft from year to year. In recent years, instructors have allowed campers to reserve or even prepay for specific crafts before camp. If you would like to make such arrangements, notify us when you submit your proposals, and provide the means of contact for campers to pre-order, e.g. phone, email, or website.
Plan to teach every craft session at camp beginning with the Friday evening session after the evening meal. Do not count on having any downtime in which to do crafts that other instructors have brought for campers.
Have your booth set up on Friday, September 18, 2026, by 5 pm so that you can eat with us. We have a devotion then the meal is served at 5:15 pm, then the first craft session will be from 6:30-9:30 pm Friday.
No one is permitted to sell handmade items at LCC. However, instructors may sell their samples on Sunday afternoon.
If there are any issues, please communicate with Cindy Kennedy to resolve them.
If you have never been to Leisure Craft Camp before, but aren't sure whether you want to be an instructor, we welcome you to come as a camper first to see firsthand what the experience is, then you can use your knowledge of camp to better prepare to serve our campers when you come as an instructor. However, if you have never been to camp and believe you have the background to come for the first time as an instructor, we welcome you to present your crafts to the board for approval. If you've been to camp before, WELCOME BACK! We can't wait to see the ideas you have for the 2026 Leisure Craft Camp!! Either way, please carefully read the "Top 10" above. Potential instructors will present their proposed crafts to the board on Saturday, March 21, 2026.
