The Lee group applies synthetic and physical inorganic chemistry to address current scientific challenges in areas such as coordination chemistry, bioinorganic chemistry, medicinal inorganic chemistry, and renewable energy. Using the tools and methods of inorganic synthesis we are preparing well-defined metal complexes in various applications. Students will receive broad training in synthesis, by designing and preparing molecular complexes, and in physical methods, by investigating compounds using techniques such as spectroscopy, crystallography, and voltammetry. Our research will inspire students to strive to be independent scientists who are passionate about fundamental science and about solving the important problems.
