Productivity

We are living in the age of super fast computers, still we are not "RUNNING" the computers, we are "WALKING" them.

We all want to be very productive in whatever tasks we are doing at work. If you think we can be more productive please share your thoughts/ideas. We have identified some of the pain areas which are actually affecting our productivity most.

Do you think you are facing below problems?

1) "I am spending more time in finding something on my file system which time I could be using to be more productive"

2) "I am suffering from many distractions at work both from computers and from outside world"

3) "I am doing most of the work manually which can be automated"

4) "I am not following DRY (Do Not Repeat Yourself) principle. I am repeating myself which time can be saved for other tasks"

There is very good book on developer productivity , by Neal Ford - "Productive Programmer". We have read this book and tried some of the tools - techniques ourselves. This book addresses the above problems and provides solutions.

We have added some other tools/techniques we thought which are not covered in that book.

We will keep posting those tips here to help all of us to be more and more productive. To be Super Users :-)
