1. COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course will study some of the foundational doctrines of the Christian church with special emphasis on what the Church of God believes.
2. GENERAL OBJECTIVES
1. To assist the student in having a foundational grasp of the basic doctrines of the Christian Faith and an appreciation for what the Church of God believes.
2. To enable students to understand why they believe what they believe

4. COURSE OUTLINE
1. The Doctrine of God.
2. Jesus Christ (Doctrine, Natures, views)
3. The Holy Spirit (Doctrine, Nature, views)
4. The Trinity
5. Man (Doctrine, Nature, views)
6. Salvation (Doctrine)
7. The Church (its birth, purpose)
8. Ordinances (Baptism, Communion, Foot washing)
9. Sanctification (Holiness)
10. Spirit Beings (Doctrine)
11. Eschatology (Rapture, Four views of Millennium, Second Coming of Christ etc.)
5. COURSE REQUIREMENTS
Each student will be expected to read as extensively as possible on the relevant topic for each week’s discussion.
Each student is expected to write a term paper of 5 pages single spaced on any of the doctrines covered in the course and deliver a ten (10) minute in-class presentation on one of the questions listed.
Each student will complete homework assignments.
