RePEc profile page
I am a Professor in the School of Economics, Researcher within the Policy Research on International Services and Manufacturing (PRISM) and Research Associate of the Southern Africa Labour and Development Research Unit (SALDRU) in the School of Economics at the University of Cape Town.

My research interests fall within the field of international trade and development in Africa. My earlier research focused on the response of African economies to trade liberalisation, looking particularly at the effects on employment, poverty, export performance and more recently price integration. Over the past few years, my research agenda has been structured around a number of policy-based research initiatives.

My future research agenda will, amongst others, focus on product market integration in Africa, regional economic development and firm level responses to trade policy.
