I am the Director  the research unit Policy Research on International Services and Manufacturing (PRISM), Professor in the School of Economics, Research Associate of the Southern Africa Labour and Development Research Unit (SALDRU) in the School of Economics at the University of Cape Town. I am also a IZA Research Fellow.

My research interests fall within the field of international trade and development in Africa, covering, inter alia,  the effects of trade and on product market integration, labour market outcomes and firm performance. My research agenda is generally structured around policy-based research initiatives.
