R packages
fixest: Fast and user-friendly estimation of econometric models with multiple fixed-effects. Includes ordinary least squares (OLS), generalized linear models (GLM) and the negative binomial. The core of the package is based on optimized parallel C++ code, scaling especially well for large data sets. Further provides tools to export and view the results of several estimations with intuitive design to cluster the standard-errors.
This package is available on CRAN. Project's homepage here.
stringmagic: Performs complex string operations compactly and efficiently. Supports string interpolation jointly with over 50 string operations. Also enhances regular string functions (like grep() and co). The new way to manipulate character strings.
This package is available on CRAN. Project's homepage here.
indexthis: A simple package to quickly create indexes (aka group IDs, or keys).
This package is available on CRAN. Project's homepage here.
HDclassif: Tools to create coherent groups of observations based on observables (clustering). The method is especially efficient to tackle data of very high dimension (e.g. 100+ variables). The decision on the optimal number of groups is based on the Bayesian information criterion.
This package is available on CRAN.
fplot: Easiest way to plot beautiful graphs of regular/conditional/weighted distributions. The distribution graphs are fully automatic: the many options are tailored to the data at hand (e.g., categorical, continuous, skewed) to offer the most meaningful (and hopefully beautiful!) graphs possible – with no/minimum user input.
This package is available on CRAN. Project's homepage here.
hdd: Class of data allowing the easy importation/manipulation of out of memory data sets. The data sets are located on disk but look like in-memory. Allows to handle data sets of any size conveniently.
This package is available on CRAN. Project's homepage here.
dreamerr: Set of functions to make error-handling in R a piece of cake.
Xaringan theme (CSS + javascript)
Unofficial Xaringan theme of the University of Bordeaux
Xaringan is used to make slides in Rmarkdown that are rendered in HTML.
I created a set of CSS + javascript style files which are free to use. Just use ub_theme.css and ub_theme.html and you're good to go!
All the scripts and a description can be found on github. There is a tutorial on its web site.
