Chaperones help our organization to run smoothly and enable our kids to continue their priceless experiences with marching band in a safe environment. Please chaperone!
Who can/should chaperone?
The Greater Latrobe Band Parent Association (GLBPA) asks that at least one parent or guardian from each family provide an approved adult chaperone at least one event per season.
Events include football games, competitions, shows, parades, and annual overnight trips.
What are the responsibilities of a chaperone?
Chaperones ride the buses, help set up the bleachers for the band, load/unload/position equipment, escort students to the restrooms, and assist the band, its members, and its directors as needed.
Chaperones are to wear provided lanyards for easy identification by the students, any wildcat t-shirt or polo, and closed toe shoes.
We are in need of approximately 4-7 chaperones per game, parade or show.
How do I become an approved chaperone?
Chaperones must have their clearances on file with the band. Not sure what clearances you need? The orange print below will take you to Greater Latrobe School District's Clearances page. Just click it!
