William Koch I Sailing Regatta - America
The William Koch I Sailing Regatta is an international sea scout regatta held every two years. Sailors from all over the world come to compete over a week for the Koch Cup and Kiwi Cup.
Koch Cup - top 20 crews after 3 days of qualifying
Kiwi Cup - bottom 20 crews after 3 days of qualifying.
In 2016 and 2018, the Australian representatives were Lake Tuggeranong Sea Scout members Orla and Eamon Gray. This was an amazing opportunity for our sea scouts and shows where scouting can take you with a little hard work.
In 2016 at Long Beach California they were placed 6th overall in the Koch Cup, making them the highest placed Australian team. This year the Koch Cup was won by New Zealand, the first overseas team to win the trophy and by the biggest margin in the history of the event.
in 2018 at Galveston, Texas they placed 5th overall in the Koch Cup, and won the sportsmanship award for the regatta, so a very successful event for Australia, and Lake Tuggeranong Sea Scouts.
