The Kentucky Appaloosa Owners Association has established a special committee to review all member-submitted rule and bylaw changes. This is your opportunity to help shape the future of our program. Submission deadline is April 11th, 2026. There are several ways to submit your proposals to Committee Chair, Chelsea Bowen.

Name of the current KApOA member making the proposal.
The referenced program rule or bylaw being addressed.

The Kentucky Appaloosa Owners Association was formed as a result of the creation of the Kentucky Breeders Incentive Fund, funded by sales taxes on stallion service fees. These tax receipts were made available to all horse breeds in Kentucky based on new legislation and signed into law in 2005. These funds are used to promote each breed and enhance the economic development of the breed in Kentucky.
The Kentucky Appaloosa Owners Association (KApOA) was formed through the cooperation of the 3 Kentucky regional Appaloosa horse clubs recognized by the ApHC:
Bluegrass State ApHC, KY Mid-State ApHC, and West KY ApHC.
Any attempt in connection with the Kentucky Horse Breeders’ Incentive Fund to provide false or misleading information to the Kentucky Appaloosa Owners Association or government officials, or to otherwise engage in fraudulent activity, shall result in appropriate disciplinary action by the KApOA and the application of all civil and criminal penalties that may apply.

ATTENTION TRAIL RIDERS!
The Bluegrass State ApHC and West Kentucky ApHC are teaming up to bring you the 2026 Spotted In The Bluegrass Open Trail Ride!
Join us May 6th–10th, 2026 at Wranglers Campground: Land Between the Lakes for five days of food, fellowship, and fun out on the trails. Open to all riders, all ages, and all breeds — so invite your friends! Activities will include group rides each morning, potluck dinners, a silent auction, and a campfire hot dog roast.
$35 per rider, which includes your evening meals and a commemorative t-shirt! (Register by April 8th to guarantee your ride T-shirt.) Riders 10 and under are free. Please bring an item for our silent auction to support these clubs and our future endeavors.
Come ride, relax, and make memories with us in the Bluegrass.

What: 5-day trail ride
When: 6-10 May, 2026
Where: Wranglers Campground, Land Between the Lakes, Golden Pond, KY 42211
Who: Everyone! Open to all riders, all ages & all breeds of equine.
Ride Fee: $35.00 + auction item per person (ages 10 & under free)
Camping: Make reservations for campsite and stalls directly through Wranglers Campground at www.lblweb.usedirect.com or 800-525-7077. Campground Area D is recommended.
Evening meals will be provided Thursday (potluck), Friday and Saturday. Register by April 8th to receive a free ride t-shirt.
