Before Banksy
Ken was putting images, some of which were quite humorous, in his paintings as early as the 1980's. He often choose large 'areas' such as cliff's or walls to put images on. In one sense he was putting his own 'graffiti' on his work but, unlike Banksy, he would hide or blend the images in so that they were hard to see and, of course, they were in his paintings and not on the actual places. Ken hid things for fun and he enjoyed hiding stories and even portraits. He never made political points and as such had very different aims to Banksy and other graffiti artists.
In this painting Ken has used the cliffs to hide images of a love story, one that ended in tragedy. The whole shape of the two large headlands are the two people who died and there are many other aspects of this story hidden in the painting. Ken has also put his own portrait in it as well as another but can you see them?
Try to find: a couple painted walking, the same couple standing together, a cat, a bear, ken's self portrait, 'survivors', dead people, souls going to heaven, an octopus, a girl lying down dreaming, a funny looking creature waving, a man and a women lying facing each other and many other things.
The hand of God (turn picture 90 degrees anticlockwise) and many other faces are hidden.
Can you see:
The large cat- once you find it turn the photo
slowly and the cat changes into other things.
The large crab like monster
The crowd of spectators
The man trying to escape
The man with a top hat
The lady and all her reflections
Many faces

There are several other images all part of a story but which one?
Below are some images from the painting above.
Can you see where they are painted in?
