Students will leave this course with a complete portfolio as outlined in the AP Studio Art Exam requirements.
Students will create additional portfolio samples (8x10 hard copy of artwork, CD containing portfolio artwork, and website designed to display individual artwork).
Students will create a concentration of work (12) based of an idea of their choice. This idea needs to be well thought out, researched, and developed.
Students will learn how to do research using a notebook-type journal.
Student will create a variety of work, showing their expertise in the elements and principles of design.
Student will exhibit an understanding of the human figure and proportion.
Students will be able to write and discuss personal opinions about their own art and the works of others.
Honors Art
Students will begin developing a AP related portfolio.
Students will create a 8x10 hard copy of artwork.
Students will learn how to do research using a notebook-type journal.

Students will create abstract and non-objective works from researched ideas.
Students will be able to write and discuss personal opinions about their own art and the works of others.
Students will create an altered book of abstract, problem-solving, and creative ideas.
Painting
Students will begin with begin by reviewing basic drawing skills.
Students will review the elements and principles of design.
Students will learn basic color theory, paint mixing, and effects.
Students will begin studying the human figure and learn about ratio and proportion.
Students will create abstract and non-objective works from researched ideas.
Students will create an altered book of abstract, problem-solving, and creative ideas.
Students will learn how to use and be encouraged to work from personal photographs (landscape) and live objects (still life).
Drawing
Students will learn and study the elements and principles of design.
Students will begin studying the human figure and learn about ratio and proportion.
Students will create abstract and non-objective works from researched ideas.
Students will begin working in a sketchbook and recording their ideas and research.
Students will understand and be able to demonstrate 1&2 point perspective.
Students will experiment with many drawing media (pastel, oil pastel, ink, graphite, prismacolor, and charcoal)
