Brief of Invention: Notch filters find immense applicability in numerous fields, for instance, in biomedical instrumentation, notch filters are used to remove unwanted power line interference and to obtain error free important diagnostics from biomedical signals like ECG, fetal ECG and surface EMG; in body imaging and diagnostics; in the field of automation, for motion control; in GPS and GNSS anti-jamming systems; for estimation and tracking of frequency; and in communication systems in multiple capacities.

Therefore, where ever trimming of a specific frequency is required the instant innovation shall be applicable.

This invention, purely technical, provides a technical solution for how to design a notch filter meeting the two contradictory specifications together. One is the shortest transient (the time filter takes to remove the notch frequency) and other is the highest quality. Overall, the present invention provides an efficient time-varying-pole-radius (TVPR) infinite impulse response (IIR) notch-filter from its complete design to testing and complete development of the filter to solve the above-mentioned technical problem.
