2007-2008 Rebuild

I had a broken stringer on the cage that needed to be replaced so I decided it was a good time to strip the fabric, build a new windshield, and rebuild my panel.

The new panel. I wanted to move the panel closer to me. I'm using auto heater hose as a vibration dampner between the panel and the mounting tubes.

The windshield will have piano hinge along the edge so I can have interchangable side panels. I made full size doors for cold weather. I will make short side panels for summer flying.

The new panel. Much better. I got rid of the voltmeter and just put in a 12v LED so I know my radio is getting juice.

Finally done!

You can see the new fuel tank. It was sized to hold 8 gallons but since it is mounted tipped back it will only hold about 7.2 gals. I have since added a higher filler neck and it now holds about 7.8 gallons.

My new home 2007

I moved to Duanesburg, NY, 4B1. It is much closer to my house and the owners are very nice.

My hanger with solar panel, rain water collection and weather station. The solar panel gives me lights, radio, power enough to run a small vacuum cleaner, charges my cell phone and powers my weather station.

2006

Exhaust painted with POR 20. Let's see how long this lasts.

Older pics

The BRS-5 install. The rocket fires out through the fabric. This was a pain to get in there, originally it was a BRS-4 that was a couple of inches smaller.

New Rotax 447 and Powerfin prop. This is a great prop. I miss the nice wooden one though.

A custom made trailer. The wings have to be opened or removed to load and unload but it rides nice.

Nice day for skis.
