Bing 54 Tips
Here is a technique I was taught to install the spring in the Bing 54 slide. No special tools are needed and it is much faster and easier than trying to hold the spring compressed while assembling.
To Dissasemble use the normal method of compressing the spring and pushing up on the needle then unhook the cable. Nothing new there.
To Reassemble:
Here the needle jet is installed correctly.
Next comes the plastic spring cup.
Push the needle and cup up towards the top so you have room to insert the cable.
Hold the needle up with a finger while inserting the cable.
Here the cable is latched and ready for the spring.
Put the cable between any two loops of the spring. Closer to the end is better. Rotate the spring backwards so the cable snaps through the last loop.
Now the spring is around the cable. Rotate the spring forwards and it will wind onto the cable.
The spring is now on.
