My research interests are mostly in philosophy and history of physics. I try to reveal how physics brings knowledge about the world and demonstrate ontology based on the actual practice in physics including not only fundamental physics but mesoscopic physics like condensed matter physics.

In addition, I have been interested in the thought history of physical sciences in 20th century. In particular, historical developments of interpretations of quantum mechanics is a main concern.

In my master thesis, I revealed Hugh Everett's original idea by the historical research of his hand-written articles and drafts.

In my dissertation, I gave a definition of emergence as a relationships between models and applied this definition to some cases in physics.

Another interest is secondary/higher education in Japan.

Key Words: Emergence, Scientific metaphysics, Philosophy of statistical physics, Philosophy of quantum mechanics
