25 JANUARY 2015 – Sayre PA

The Knights of Columbus at Epiphany Parish, Sayre PA, have elected George King II as their new Grand Knight. George was the Treasurer of the Council since joining the Knights in December 2013. The Council elected Bob Dillinger as Treasurer, who joined the Knights in October 2014. All other Council positions remain unchanged.

The Sayre Council was originally established in January 1916 at the Epiphany Church. During the 1990’s the Council dissolved due to low membership. In November 2013, Mr. Knowles was asked to lead in the reactivation of the Sayre Council. During Mr. Knowles tenure as Grand Knight, the Sayre Council was awarded the Father McGivney Award for council growth and the ‘Contest of Champions’ award for having the largest net gain in membership, 550%, among all of the Knights of Columbus Councils throughout Pennsylvania.

Mr. Knowles, a 4th Degree Knight, will remain active in the Sayre Council, which he has been a member of since 1984.
